Al-Fatawa Al-Hindiyyah

In the book, “Al-Fatawa Al-Hindiyyah”, composed by Shaykh Nidham Ad-Din Al-Balkhiyy and a group of 500 scholars, it is mentioned, “Blasphemes, he who attributes a place to Allāh.”

In addition it is mentioned, “And if it said, ‘Allāh fi s-sama’, [there are two cases:] if he intends to simply repeat that which comes apparent in the texts then he does not blaspheme, but if he intends by that a placethen he commits blasphemy.”

It was related that the Mughal leader Aurangzeb appointed Shaykh Nidham Ad-Din Al-Balkhiyy to overlook the compilation of the famous Hanafiyy book “Al Fatawa-l-Hindiyyah”. It was compiled by 500 scholars from the Indian subcontinent and spanned many volumes. The Mughal Sultan Aurangzeb also known as Alamghir was also a scholar and he died in the year 1707 CE. The book was titled “Fatawa-e-Alamghiri” in Persian before it was quickly nicknamed “Al Fatawa-l-Hindiyyah” in Arabic. “Al Fatawa-l-Hindiyyah” is a decisive proof for Ahlus Sunnah wal Jama^ah and it shows us that regardless of the era the scholars of Ahlus Sunnah had the same belief.

This complies with the saying of Imām at-Tahawiyy which means,”Allāh is supremely clear of all boundaries, extremes, sides, organs, and instruments. The six directions do not contain Him, for these are attributed to all created things.”
